Supports eligible working fathers (including self-employed fathers) in sharing parental responsibility through sharing up to 4 weeks of their wife’s Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) or Adoption Leave for Mothers (AL) benefits.
From 1 Apr 2025, this scheme will be replaced by a new SPL scheme, where eligible working parents will be provided with an additional 6 weeks of paid parental leave, to be shared between both parents.
